Delvecchio深受重伤
Delvecchio out for a month Saturday 11 October, 2003
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Marco Delvecchio should be out of action for at least four weeks after he suffered a thigh strain during training with Italy.
“I felt a terrible searing pain in my right thigh,” revealed the striker. “I think it is a serious strain.”
Tests are yet to be completed on the Roma star, but if his initial impressions are confirmed then this type of injury will require a month on the sidelines.
Delvecchio pulled up during yesterday’s final training session ahead of the Euro 2004 qualifier with Azerbaijan.
He was clearly limping heavily on his right leg when leaving the field in the Stadio Granillo.
“This is a really unlucky time for me,” he added. “I can feel that an injury this painful has to be a torn muscle, or at the very least a strain.”
He is the second Roma player to pull out of the Azerbaijan game, as Christian Panucci suffered an ankle problem during the week.
“It is very painful,” explained the former Inter man. “I have never in my entire career suffered an injury to the anterior muscles in my thighs, so I cannot believe it has happened right now.”
