Real Madrid have asked Roma for 24 hours to consider whether they will let Brazilian stopper Cicinho leave.
Rumours suggest that Giallorossi sporting director Daniele Prade’ agreed a fee with his Merengues counterpart Predrag Mijatovic in the Spanish capital on Monday, but that the La Liga champions have asked for a grace period.
Real suffered a humiliating and worrying 5-3 defeat in the second leg of the Spanish Super Cup on Sunday and may now be reconsidering their defensive options.
While new boss Bernd Schuster had made it clear that Cicinho didn’t feature in his plans, the terrible lambasting he received in the Press following his first meaningful encounter on the Bernabeu outfit’s bench may see him reconsider.
However, the 27-year-old right-back has clearly stated his desire to make a fresh start in Italy and the transfer is likely to be completed before Wednesday.
