Candela makes Pizarro plea

New Udinese signing Vincent Candela has urged David Pizarro to remain at the Stadio Friuli. The Chilean playmaker (pictured) has been linked with an exit this summer but the Frenchman has issued a stay plea. "I would love Pizarro to continue at Udinese," said the former Roma ace. "He is an authentic champion." Pizarro has been associated with Inter, but a Roma switch could now be on the cards after boss Luciano Spalletti left Udine for the capital yesterday. Meanwhile, Candela is ready to resume his Italian career after spending the last six months in the Premiership with Bolton. "I won’t let anyone down," said the free signing who initially moved to the peninsula 10 years ago. "Udinese are a great side and being able to play in the Champions’ League again will be very motivating." The Bianconeri swooped for the left-back after selling Marek Jankulovksi to Milan for £8m last month.

《罗马人报》 乌迪内经理Leonardi表示， 罗马和其他球队是询问了有关皮萨罗的事情 但目前他们不想放弃皮萨罗 他们将皮萨罗看作是未来球队不可缺的人物 Leonardi: "Pizarro? Se ne può parlare" Leonardi assicura, oggi su Il Romanista, che la lunga querelle con Spalletti non ha lasciato strascichi visto che alla fine si è conclusa con una separazione consensuale: "Nessuno strascico nè con Spalletti nè tantomeno con la Roma che consideriamo come tutte le altre società. L'Udinese è una società libera e tratta con tutti". Sulla volontà di Spalletti di portare Pizarro alla Roma Leonardi commenta : "Spalletti capisce di calcio. La Roma e ne altre società ce lo hanno ancora chiesto però, perciò per ora non pensiamo a cederlo, lo consideriamo un giocatore della rosa dell'Udinese a tutti gli effetti". Poi Leonardi si complimenta con la Roma per la scelta fatta: "La Roma ha acquistato un grande allenatore. Sono orgoglioso di aver collaborato con lui, la Roma parte con il piede giusto".

Udinese await Pizarro offers	Monday 20 June, 2005
Udinese insist that they have yet to receive an offer for want-away midfielder David Pizarro. The Chilean international is looking to quit the outfit with reports suggesting Roma are lining up a bid. "Nobody has made a bid for Pizarro, not even Roma," Udinese sporting director Pietro Leonardi told the Romanista newspaper. "Pizarro wants to be sold? We’ll see as we will have to take into account the needs of everyone. "However, Pizarro is under contract with us at this moment in time and is still a part of our plans." The classy playmaker has been strongly linked with the Giallorossi after boss Luciano Spalletti left Udine for the capital on Friday. "Spalletti wants Pizarro because Spalletti understands football," continued the Stadio Friuli official. "The Chilean would be good for any big club and therefore that obviously includes Roma." Inter, Juventus and Atletico Madrid have also been associated with the South American in the past. Udinese are likely to ask for around £8m before agreeing to release the central midfielder.
