Silva Decision By Next Week
The future of Valencia’s highly sought after winger David Silva is expected to be determined by next week as Barcelona make one final push to sign the player.

That, in turn, has re-ignited Barcelona’s interest in Silva, a player who Blaugrana coach Pep Guardiola sees as the perfect man to occupy the left flank. And sporting director Txiki Begiristain is ready to make an offer that will appease all parties concerned.

The Valencia board had previously resisted the temptation to listen to any offers, but with Juan Villalonga – who was seen as the only person able to solve their financial woes – severing his involvement with the club, Barça are ready to re-open negotiations.

The Catalan giants’ initial offer of 20 million was blatantly shot down by Los Ché, but according to Barcelona-based daily Sport, Txiki could up the offer to 25 million. While Valencia will take their time to mull over the proposal, Barça are eager to acquire the 22 year old by next week so that he can join up with the squad to prepare for the Champions League qualifiers.

If the deal fails to materialize by the end of next week, Silva is largely expected to remain in Valencia colours for the new season, should he also turn down a move to Serie A outfit, AS Roma.
