AS Roma coach Luciano Spalletti has contradicted executive director Rosella Sensi's claims over Antonio Cassano's first team status.
Sensi claimed last week that Cassano would not be considered for the first team this season if he continued to refuse to sign a new contract. But Spalletti dismissed the comments, saying: "Nobody has told me that if Cassano doesn't sign his contract he will not be allowed to play." To make his point, Spalletti played Cassano from the start in Saturday's friendly against Triestina. "I thought Cassano played very well. He played behind the strikers and their mobility created many chances for us," added the new Roma coach. |
