The Giallorossi will be back in action in the capital on Sunday in a friendly between Roma Legends and Liberi Nantes. The charity match is the highlight of "Oltre il gioco" (Beyond the game), the initiative promoted by Sisal Matchpoint and backed by Roma and Roma Cares to support Liberi Nantes, the first football club in Italy entirely composed of refugees and asylum seekers and officially recognized by UNHCR.
The "Oltre il gioco" project was unveiled in a press conference in Trigoria on October 1, featuring CEO Italo Zanzi, general manager Mauro Baldissoni and head coach Rudi Garcia. It will be celebrated with the charity match between Liberi Nantes and Roma Legends on Sunday in Pietralata. The Roma Legends side will include a number of famous names from the Giallorossi past, including Giannini, Nela, Candela, Scarchilli, Desideri, Chierico, Cappioli, Maini, Marazzina and Tonetto. Further legends in the shape of Giancarlo De Sisti and Angelo Benedicto Sormani will be watching on in the stands, and they will be joined by even more Roma greats.
Entrance to the game is free of charge. It's a great opportunity not only to raise the profile of the organization, but above all funds, with the aim of refurbishing the famous XXV Aprile pitch in Pietralata and purchasing sporting material ahead of the new season.
We remind you that you can support the "Oltre il gioco" project by donating at Sisal Matchpoint branches or on their website, via the fake betting market "Progetto Asd Liberi Nantes".
