Clubs queue for Cassano

Europe’s biggest clubs are monitoring the Antonio Cassano situation at Roma after contract talks allegedly stalled.
The youngster is only tied to the club until June 2006 but the Giallorossi are keen to extend that agreement.
However, speculation in the peninsula on Tuesday suggests that an initial meeting didn’t go as well as hoped.
Cassano is willing to remain in Rome but he allegedly wants his current salary doubled in return.
The two parties are now believed to have set up another meeting in January to continue negotiations.
If the former Bari youngster doesn’t reach an agreement before the end of the season then he will be sold in the summer.
That has alerted the likes of Milan, Inter, Juventus, Real Madrid and Chelsea who have all been linked with the starlet.
Roma are set for some tough months ahead as they must also renegotiate terms with Francesco Totti over a new deal.
He is also tied to the Olimpico outfit until 2006 and has been strongly linked with a move to Real Madrid or Milan.
If Roma can’t afford to keep both men then they are set to sacrifice Cassano rather than fan favourite Totti.
