[SKY] Perrotta plans Prem finale The Italy midfielder, who was born in the Lancashire town of Ashton-under-Lyne, is eager to test himself in The Premiership before hanging up his boots. The 28-year-old has helped to propel the Azzurri into the World Cup final and intends to stay in his homeland for a good while longer, but there is likely to be no shortage of interest from English clubs should he ever decide to leave Roma. "I'd like to finish my career in England," he told The Sun. "I will play a few more years in Italy, and then see if I can end my career at one of the big clubs in The Premiership. "It would be nice to go back to where I was born to finish my career." Perrotta also declared that he would always have a soft spot for England due to his connection with the country. "Although my parents are Italian and I've spent most of my life in Italy, I still feel I have a little bit of England in me," he explained. "I could have played for England and I remember my family and friends said I could, but there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to play for Italy. "I am so proud to be Italian and delighted to be in the World Cup final as it is every player's ultimate dream." |
