The Giallorossi had been more than prepared to let midfielder Diawara leave the Stadio Olimpico for a new experience this summer and the Turkish transfer window is still open.
According to Sky Sport Italia, among other sources in Italy, Roma had accepted the bid from Galatasaray.
However, Diawara has no intention of leaving and turned down the proposal via his agent.

Il Galatasaray di Terim ha messo nel mirino Amadou Diawara. E la Roma ha aperto alla cessione, tanto che attende il centrocampista, di ritorno dalla Guinea dopo il violento colpo di Stato degli scorsi giorni, per parlarne e decidere cosa fare da qui a domani. Diawara ha trovato pochissimo spazio finora guadagnando il campo solo contro la Salernitana a risultato ormai acquisito.

E A GENNAIO - Mourinho non sarebbe contrario sapendo di poter contare su uno tra Bove, Darboe e Villar come alternative fino a gennaio. Il calciomercato in Turchia è aperto ancora fino a domani e l'offerta potrebbe portare 10 milioni alla Roma. Prima il sì, poi l’improvviso dietrofront. Amadou Diawara non andrà al Galatasaray. Il centrocampista, di ritorno dalla guerra civile oggi a Roma con un volo dalla Guinea che ha fatto scalo a Parigi, a meno di nuovi cambi di fronte improvvisi resterà in giallorosso. Almeno fino a gennaio.

I MOTIVI - Ieri il centrocampista, informato della proposta, si era detto disponibile ad accettare la squadra di Terim. Nella trattativa con tra il suo agente e il club turco però qualcosa è andato storto. Così il Galatasaray ha deciso di interrompere le trattative, e a poche dalla chiusura del mercato difficilmente le riaprirà. A mercato chiuso, Tiago Pinto non avrebbe più la possibilità di trovare un sostituto per l'ex Napoli, che è pronto dunque a rimettersi agli ordini di Mourinho per giocarsi le sue chances. A gennaio il suo nome resta sul mercato anche perché la Roma vorrebbe uno tra Zakaria e Douglas Luiz.

DIAWARA AGENT: ‘MOURINHO CREATING UNCOMFORTABLE SITUATION’

Amadou Diawara’s agent slams Jose Mourinho for again freezing the midfielder out of the Roma squad. ‘I don’t understand the message he’s trying to get across.’

Mou publicly lambasted his squad players after the 6-1 Conference League defeat to Bodo/Glimt in Norway, telling reporters that he had “only 13 players” and the others were not at the same level.

Since that day, he has left Diawara, Borja Mayoral, Gonzalo Villar and Bryan Reynolds out of the squad entirely for Serie A games against Napoli and Cagliari, so they don’t even have a spot on the bench.

“I don’t understand the message he’s trying to get across,” Diawara’s agent Daniele Piraino told Tuttomercatoweb.

“Is Diawara being made a scapegoat? Is he being made to pay a heavy price for an error? Or is it an attempt to force the club into acting on the transfer market?

“If it is for these reasons, rather than just poor fitness, or he feels the player is unable to understand the tactical requirements of the coach, then I think Mourinho is creating an uncomfortable situation.

“It is inexplicable, but Diawara will adapt. Amadou is an exceptional professional.”

The midfielder had been on the transfer market over the summer, with interest from Premier League clubs, but no deal was struck.
