Arrigo Sacchhi wants to take Roma starlet Daniele de Rossi to the Bernabeu in the summer according to reports in Spain.
The Real Madrid director has targetted the 21-year-old as one of the club’s key summer signings and has flown to Rome on several occasions in the past few weeks to watch the player.
De Rossi has signed a contract with the Serie A giants to keep him at the club until 2009, but Madrid a weighing up a huge offer for his services.
Roma youngster Daniele De Rossi is reportedly at the top of Real Madrid’s summer transfer wish-list.
The 21-year-old is one of Italy’s most promising prospects and Real technical director Arrigo Sacchi is eager to swoop.
The former Azzurri tactician is a massive fan of the central midfielder and a bid is allegedly being lined up.
Sacchi has been spotted at the Stadio Olimpico recently, primarily to keep an eye on De Rossi’s development.
Although the Italian international recently signed a new contract until 2009 in Rome, Real Madrid may tempt the Italian outfit to sell with a mega-offer.
They are also ready to improve De Rossi’s salary which currently stands at close to £600,000 a season.
De Rossi isn’t the only Giallorossi player to have been linked with a move to the European giants.
Francesco Totti, Antonio Cassano, Amantino Mancini and Cristian Chivu have also been associated with the Madrid outfit.
