Appiah denies Rome transfer: Fenerbahçe's Ghanian player Stephen Appiah has denied rumours of an imminent move to AS Roma, saying the press misinterpreted a scheduled family visit as a transfer deal. "It is true that I am going to Rome, but I am going there to pick up my wife and kids before the start of the season, not to enter into any transfer negotiations. It's very strange that my visit took a life of its own in the press. I am not planning on leaving Fener, especially not in its centenary year," announced Appiah
