| Real Madrid winger Cicinho has admitted he is ready to complete a move to Roma in a £8m deal.
“I have already spoken to my wife and my father,” he told ‘Il Romanista’ newspaper this weekend.
“If Roma reach an agreement with Real Madrid, then I am happy to go.”
The Brazilian had originally rejected a transfer earlier this summer as he wanted to stay and fight for his place at the Bernabeu.
However, after he was played out of position – or not at all – in pre-season friendlies under Coach Bernd Schuster, Cicinho changed his mind.
The Giallorossi had been biding their time for the situation to pan out and have now approached the club with a new offer.
It’s reported that director of sport Daniele Prade called counterpart Predrag Mijatovic and was told that Roma would have to match Liverpool’s earlier bid of £8m.
The Italians had hoped for either a loan with the option to buy at the end of the season or a cash only transaction of around £5m to buy the player outright.
Cicinho will keep his current wage deal of £1.5m per season and his contract with Real runs until 2010.
