Napoli close on Semioli	Saturday 14 July, 2007
Newly promoted Napoli are said to be in negotiations with Chievo’s Italian international Franco Semioli, Manuele Blasi and Daniele Cacia. The Azzurri are back in the top flight after years in the wilderness and aim to make an immediate impact on Serie A. It is reported this weekend that talks are at an advanced stage to bring Chievo winger Semioli (pictured) to the Stadio San Paolo. The Italian international is determined to leave the Flying Donkeys following their relegation and had been close to both Fiorentina and Roma. There are also claims that Napoli are planning a swoop for Juventus midfielder Blasi, who spent last season on loan at Fiorentina. Another potential target according to the Italian media is Piacenza hitman Cacia, who scored 14 goals in 28 Serie B appearances last term before suffering an horrific injury. “I don’t know anything about talks with Napoli, as at the moment my only focus is on recovering from my injury,” the 23-year-old told Radio Kiss Kiss. “I am at an advanced stage of rehabilitation and in a month I hope to be back on the field. Of course interest from Napoli is an honour, as they are among the most important clubs in Italy and to wear their jersey would be a great opportunity. “I want to learn and it’s up to me to prove my worth so I can make the big leap into Serie A.”
