Reports in France suggest that Alou Diarra of Lens will move to Lyon after a proposed move to Roma collapsed.
The French international is set to sign a four-year contract with the Ligue 1 champions, replacing his namesake Mahamadou Diarra who moved to Real Madrid, with Lens netting something around £5m.
The midfielder was one of the names on Roma Coach Luciano Spalletti’s wish-list and an agreement had been reached with the Italian club.
However, the negotiations then suddenly stalled because of the Giallorossi’s interest in David Pizarro.
The Chilean finally completed his move from Inter on Saturday after lengthy discussions leaving Diarra to consider his other options.
The World Cup finalist, who was also eyed by Marseille, had scored four goals in 66 League matches over the last two seasons for Lens.
