As they continue their search for a new central midfielder, Roma could be set to make a move for Monaco star João Moutinho.
The Giallorossi are looking to strengthen in the middle of the park following the departure of Miralem Pjanic to Juventus earlier in the summer, with Fiorentina man Borja Valero thought to be a major target.
However, sporting director Walter Sabatini is now considering Portuguese international Moutinho, who he believes would add an extra touch of class to Roma’s midfield, according to A Bola.
Roma are only set to bring in one more central midfielder and for now Valero remains the favourite, although Sabatini could instead push for the Monaco man.
At 29-years-old, Moutinho is two years younger than Valero and while both have a similar style of play, the Lupi could be swayed by the greater Champions League and title winning experience of the Portuguese.
