Roma defender Philippe Mexes has denied reports that he is set on leaving the capital city club this summer.
The Frenchman is contracted to the Giallorossi until June 2008, but talks regarding a renewal are thought to have stalled over financial details.
His agent Olivier Joanneaux this week claimed that Mexes was unhappy with the outfit’s offer and was ready to consider more lucrative bids from other clubs.
“I have read many false reports in the papers,” said the French international stopper to Roma Channel.
“That interview with my agent dates back to two months ago and it was published only now,” added the former Auxerre stopper, a target for Milan and Real Madrid.
“I can say that I hope with all my heart that the parties involved will find an agreement, I feel Roman and a Romanista,” continued the 25-year-old, who landed in Rome in 2004.
“I like it here and I love our great supporters. I want to stay,” he concluded.
