New Coach Gigi Del Neri claims that the whole team must band together and get organised to beat Inter rather than rely on a few star names.

“It is a team that creates great football and not a solitary player,” warned the Roma boss. “Francesco Totti has to give his contribution and be an important element of that, but he cannot have too much responsibility placed upon his shoulders.”

The captain has already suffered under the weight of expectation, most notably with the spitting incident in Euro 2004, so this new approach could sit well with him.
Del Neri faces a tough debut at the Stadio Olimpico, as he welcomes on form Inter in a must-win game for both sides.
“This is a match that provides us with incredible motivation. We are ready for it and aim to get the best result available. I am convinced that the players at my disposal can play with a 4-4-2, even if it’s not necessarily true that we’ll use that system tomorrow. I have never believed in particular tactics,” he insists, “but rather in a team that has an organised way of filling up the pitch.”

“Both Daniele De Rossi and Matteo Ferrari will start,” revealed the former Chievo and Porto tactician. “The midfield needs good feet and De Rossi played well in that role for Italy. I don’t like all these rivalries for places in a team, as players need to have some solid ground to work on.”
