梅克斯在当地时间5月21下午前往位于罗马市中心圆柱广场接受了《时代报》的采访

“我们经历了一个非常困难的赛季。最后我们只能得到联赛第七的排名，而且我们还将继续努力才能得到最后的结果。我们还有2场非常艰难的比赛，特别是在星期天与米兰的比赛。无论是对我们还是对米兰这都将是一场非常关键的比赛，总之这3分对任何一支球队来说都是非常重要的。我们也需要这3分来保住联赛第七的位置，这也是必须的。如果想拯救这个赛季，那么我们必须得取得联赛前七的位置。我们都非常希望能重新开始一个赛季，我们将为着这个目标全力以赴，昂着头结束这个赛季。我相信周末大家能在米兰看到一个强大的罗马。在最近一段时间，我们的表现并不是很好，但我将竭尽全力回到像上赛季那样的属于我们的位置。

“我只想说明一点，我们的目标是前七，这样就足够了。我们首先应该看自己找原因。个人来说，我经过了一个跟前面几个赛季完全不同的赛季，因此我还需要做得好多更好。在剩下的2场比赛中，我们会全力争取6分，在最后时刻改变我们的面貌。”

Roma defender Philippe Mexes talked about the team's troubled season, his future and retiring Milan legend, Paolo Maldini...

Roma have one of the worst defensive records in Serie A, conceding a whopping 57 goals this season that currently make them the fourth worst defence in the league.

Defender Philippe Mexes gave an interview to Sky in which he talked about the team's disappointing season and his own future, which he doesn't think will be away from Rome.

"It's been a very tough season," he said. "All we have now is the sixth place and we have to hang on to that. We have two very difficult games left and we start on Sunday against Milan. It will be a fundamental match for them too. There are three very important points to play for.

"The sixth place is very important for us. If we want to save this season, we have to finish sixth at all costs. We are very eager to start preparing for next season, but before that we want to end this one well."

On his future, the Frenchman commented, "I am staying here. Personally I haven't done very well this season so I want to make amends.

"Will we be competitive next year? Roma have always been competitive. This season we have had some episodes go against us. It's hard to imagine things going worse next year. President [Franco] Sensi died, all these injuries, a so-so preparation period. It couldn't have gone worse."

On Milan legend Paolo Maldini, who will play his last home match against the Giallorossi this weekend, Mexes said, "I give my compliments to him. I'd like to see everyone stand up for him, to applaud him because he is the image of football in Italy and the world. He's never won the Ballon d'Or, but I would give him a hundred."
