It's quite pathetic how most newspapers (Gazzetta in first place...what a coincidence) try to twist Pallotta's words to make him appear the villain. He did not tell Totti to retire but to choose how to retire. There is a huge difference between telling somebody to retire and asking him whether he wants to continue for another year or start immediately as a manager, as he said in another interview, he has already a contract as a manager ready for when he decides to hang his boots.
What's really pathetic is the fans' knack for causing drama. We should be happy with this streak we're on. But we read into things too much and jump to the worst possible interpretation of what Totti/Pallotta/Spalletti say. Prime example is the comments section on CdT.
