[SKY] Mark Hughes' side have been chasing a deal for the Egyptian striker who impressed during an 18-month loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur, and an improved contract offer could seal his passage to Ewood Park. Mido has already turned down Rovers once, but is reportedly in talks with the Uefa Cup qualifiers in a bid to negotiate a more favourable deal this time around with a four-year contract at £1.2 million a season apparently on offer. The Premiership side are desperate to compensate for Craig Bellamy's exit, and despite the signings of Francis Jeffers and Jason Roberts, Hughes is still intent on adding another front-man to his squad. Roma will not stand in Mido's way should he agree on a switch to Ewood Park, as any sale would help finance a deal for Lecce's Mirko Vucinic. Giallorossi official Daniele Prade is believed to have told the imposing Egyptian that a return to The Premiership would be beneficial to his career, but the player's agent says Mido is in no hurry to resolve his future. "There isn't an agreement to give an answer immediately," said Mino Raiola. "When there will be news, we will announce it." If negotiations with Rovers fall through then Mido will join up with the Giallorossi's summer training camp in Castelrotto on Saturday. |
