Cagliari’s Acquafresca Dreams Of Playing Alongside Francesco Totti – Agent
The attacker is currently pondering his future and looks set to leave his club at the end of the season.
Robert Acquafresca is a 21-year-old striker who is owned by Inter but currently on loan to Cagliari in the Italian Serie A.
He has enjoyed yet another outstanding season for the Sardinian outfit, for whom he has found the back of the net on 11 occasions, which consequently sees his side in an impressive seventh position in the standings, just three points adrift of the sixth and final European qualifying position.
Earlier in the day, the player’s agent, Paolo Fabbri, revealed that his client has a 50 per cent chance of returning to the Nerazzurri next season; however, his latest words suggest that a shock move to Roma could be on the cards.
“Robert Acquafresca and Francesco Totti would be an incredible combination,” Fabbri asserted in an interview, as reported by Corriere dello Sport.
“I am very confident that if Robert played with Totti it would be very impressive, and I know that it is something he has always wanted to do.”
Acquafresca’s boss, Massimiliano Allegri, has also been linked with a move to the Italian capital recently, as a possible replacement for the under-fire Luciano Spalletti.
The agent continued, “Maybe if Allegri were to join Roma, then that would enhance Robert’s chances of moving there as well. Therefore, the coach’s movement may very well influence our choice.”
Fabbri concluded the interview by claiming that his client has attracted the interest of some other clubs, placing even further doubt over his destination next term.
He said, “Roma are not the only other club where Robert could end up, as Lazio, Palermo and Genoa are also interested.”
