Parma have confirmed that they have completed the signing of Brazilian forward Reginaldo from Fiorentina.
The Gialloblu are looking to strengthen their attacking department as they await the news of whether or not Giuseppe Rossi will be linking up with them again.
Should the Manchester United ace agree to return then he will be playing alongside with the 23-year-old Samba star who impressed late last term with his Tuscan club.
“Parma announce the signing of Ferreira da Silva Reginaldo on a permanent basis from Fiorentina. He has penned a five-year contract,” read a note on the Ducali’s website. “The player will be unveiled on Friday.”
The deal was already announced last week when Parma President Tommaso Ghirardi admitted that an agreement had been reached with the Viola.
The £3m move was finalised on Thursday when the striker returned from his holiday in Brazil.
Reginaldo started his career with Treviso in 2000, but he left last summer after six years to join Fiorentina following the Biancocelesti’s relegation to Serie B, appearing 27 times for the Gigliati.
Fabrizio Miccoli will appear for Palermo next season after signing a three-year contract with the Sicilian outfit.
The Juventus player spent the last two seasons on loan in Portugal with Benfica and was expected to be recalled to the Bianconeri after Coach Claudio Ranieri stated that he was counting on the ‘Romario del Salento’.
The Rosanero, however, started tracking the striker over the past weeks and reports had suggested that a move was on the cards.
“Juventus announce that they have finalised the sale of striker Fabrizio Miccoli to Palermo on a permanent basis for £3m, to be paid over the next three years,” read a note on the Old Lady’s website.
The forward agreed to a three-year deal with the islanders, where he will replace David Di Michele, who has signed for Torino today.
Juventus also confirmed that they have sold midfielder Olivier Kapo to Birmingham City for £1.6m, while Rey Volpato and Sebastian Giovinco will join Empoli on co-ownership and loan deals respectively.
Torino have beaten Parma to the signing of Palermo striker David Di Michele, the club have confirmed.
The 31-year-old seemed close to joining the Ducali, but failed to agree to personal terms and President Maurizio Zamparini finally agreed a deal with the Granata instead.
Torino chief Urbano Cairo had been following the player for some time and reportedly offered him a three-year contract worth £535,000 a year.
He has been keen to strengthen his side’s attacking options after a dismal term in front of goal, with Nicola Ventola having already agreed to join Toro.
Di Michele, who moved south after a successful spell with Udinese, appeared 19 times last season and scored seven goals.
The forward started his career with Lodigiani in Serie C1, before moving on to Foggia and Salernitana, where he made his Serie A debut.
He joined Udinese for the 2001-02 season, but returned to Reggina on loan for two seasons before starting his adventure at the Stadio Friuli.
Napoli have set their sights on Argentine striker Ezequiel Lavezzi as they look to strengthen ahead of their return to Serie A.
Known by many in his homeland as ‘the new Maradona’, Lavezzi grabbed the attention of the Press in 2004’s Apertura tournament when, at the age of 19, he netted six times.
The San Lorenzo star is now 22 and looking for a move to Europe with Atletico Madrid and Napoli set to make offers.
According to Argentine newspaper Clarin, Vesuviani President Aurelio De Laurentiis and director general Pierpaolo Marino have decided on a bid of £3.5m and offered Lavezzi a five-year contract.
De Laurentiis also confirmed today that Napoli had signed Uruguayan midfielder Walter Gargano.
A deal had been reported but not made official prompting rumours that Valencia were set to gazump the Azzurri, but the Danubio man is set to arrive at the Stadio San Paolo shortly.
