Roma will be looking to continue their good recent form in the hope that they can catch AC Milan at the top of the table, whilst Chievo are fighting for a European place for next season ?all in what should be a very interesting encounter on Saturday.
Roma are serving a 2 match ban from the Olimpico, following the disastrous derby events 4 weeks ago and will play this match at Palermo's Stadio Barbera.
FORM GUIDE:
Roma ?WLDWLW
Roma have been terribly inconsistent of late and this has seen them defeat Lecce 3-0 but crash 2-1 to Bologna a week earlier. However there is no doubt Capello's team can sense a Milan side that is beginning to struggle and as such, they will need to take full advantage in the coming weeks.
Chievo ?LDDDDL
Chievo haven't won a game in six weeks, but their form hasn't been all that bad. They should have defeated Milan two weeks ago but poor concentration in the final minutes of that match cost them a victory. They need to start winning games if they want a place in Europe next season and Del Neri will be surely stressing this to his players.
LATEST TEAM NEWS:
Roma will be missing captain Francesco Totti for this encounter, as the Italian international forward picked up a suspension following a yellow card against Lecce. He will be sorely missed, but look out for Gaetano D'Agostino to impress once again. The Roma youth product was given a rare start last week and played a fine game. Capello will also be without De Rossi, Montella, Candela and Panucci as all four are injured.
Chievo also have a few problems, the most notable with Simone Perotta, who doesn't look like he will be fit to take the field. He will be a huge loss for the Del Neri's side, who have relied on his brilliance in the centre of the park all season. Goalkeeper Luca Marchegiani is also injured, with Frezzolini expected to be his replacement between the posts. Cariello and Santana are also injured, whilst Roberto Baronio is suspended.
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Roma ?Gaetano D'Agostino
The Roma youth product impressed last week and should be given another chance in this match, with Totti suspended. Capable of playing a simular role to the Roma captain, D'Agostino is an U21 regular and has always been touted as the next big thing at Roma.
Chievo ?Guiseppe Sculli
The on-loan striker from Juventus has been in great form this season for Chievo. If he keeps playing well, expect Juventus to take him back to Turin. He will be out to show them what they have been missing this season.
