Despite of a bitter row with the club and coach Luciano Spalletti last January, Christian Panucci could still have a future at Roma.
The 35-year-old refused the role of a substitute in a game against Napoli and was frozen out of the side. He has since been reintegrated into the fold. However, his contract expires in June and it has been suggested that his eight-year stay in the Italian capital is likely to come to an end.
“It’s too early to talk about Panucci’s future,” agent Fabio Parisi told RomaGiallorossa.com.
“I can’t rule out anything at the moment. We have not agreed terms with other clubs, even though the player could do it since he will become a free agent.
“And I can’t rule out an extension with Roma. Everything is fine now and it showed during the last match when Panucci wore the captain’s armband.
“We’ll see at the end of the season. I don’t think his decision will be dependent on the Giallorossi qualifying for the Champions League.”
Roma are currently in sixth spot in the Serie A table and trail fourth-placed Genoa by five points with nine games remaining in the season.
