Channel4 Italy boss Marcello Lippi has warned Antonio Cassano that he cannot wait forever for the Roma star to resolve his contractual problems. “If Antonio is not in the Azzurri squad, it is because he hasn’t really played at club level this season,” Lippi told ‘Tuttosport’. “I don’t know the precise reasons why he has been excluded from the Roma side, but until the situation changes, I cannot bring him in. I have not placed any deadlines, but I cannot wait for eternity.”

There are early signs that the feud between Antonio Cassano and Roma is coming to an end. Cassano - who has been at loggerheads with the outfit over his contract negotiations - has been out of the side for most of the season, but it now seems that there may be a calming of the waters between the player and his club. The Bari-born forward’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, but the Giallorossi have so far refused to agree to the 23-year-old’s financial terms to sign an extension. It now appears that Cassano is prepared to backtrack slightly from his initial request of £2.7m a year to £2.16m and agree to a minimum release fee clause in a new agreement of between £10m and £12m. Roma Coach Luciano Spalletti stated on Monday that he was keen to restore the player to the side. However, any new contract agreement is only really seen as a move to ensure that the club receive payment for the player when he almost certainly moves on in January – probably to Juventus. Inter have also been associated with the £20m investment who left Bari for the capital in the summer of 2001. 说卡萨诺表示愿意把续约的年薪标准降到320W每年，也就是俱乐部提供的标准，并且把违约金数额提高到1500W欧到1800W欧之间。
