AS Roma have told newly promoted Bari to forget about signing highly-rated winger Alessio Cerci, according to reports.
According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, Bari coach Giampiero Ventura, who coached the player during their days together at Pisa, was keen on reuniting in Bari.
Cerci had an impressive loan spell with Atalanta last term and he was tipped for another exit after returning to Trigoria.
However, reports imply the player is keen on staying with the Lupi in order to prove himself to coach Luciano Spalletti. Bari sporting director Giorgio Perinetti is said to have held talks with Roma's Daniele Prade where he was informed that Cerci would not be heading to the San Nicola.
Cerci came through the Roma youth system and signed professionally in 2004, but he has since spent all of his playing days on loan at Brescia, Pisa and Atalanta respectively.
