Siena will sell Taddei Tuesday 23 November, 2004

Siena say they are ready to end their dispute with Rodrigo Taddei by selling him to Roma in January.

"I have an excellent relationship with President Franco Sensi and the whole capital city," said Siena chief Paolo De Luca.

"I’m prepared to sell as soon as I receive an official offer from them, otherwise I will be forced to release him to other clubs who have already contacted us."

The Brazilian is undoubtedly Siena’s best player but he hasn’t featured for the Tuscan side since last season.

He’s been frozen out of the squad as ‘punishment’ for deciding not to extend his contract which expires in 2005.

De Luca had threatened to sideline him for the entire campaign but he seems to have had a change of heart.

Taddei, a wide midfielder who Roma could really do with, is now set to leave for a nominal fee after Christmas.

Arsenal have been linked with Siena's transfer-listed midfielder Rodrigo Taddei.

Siena president Paolo De Luca has put Taddei on the market after caving in over his contract stand-off with the Brazilian.

Taddei had hoped to join Roma in January, but De Luca confirmed no concrete offer has yet arrived for the winger. Along with Arsenal, Inter and Deportivo La Coruna have also been mentioned as interested parties.

Juventus are new favourites for the Brazilian, with director general Luciano Moggi prepared to send youngster Davide Chiumiento, plus £500,000, to sign Taddei during the winter market.
