Dellas keen on Rangers
Roma defender Traianos Dellas concedes that he would not be adverse to a summer switch to Rangers. The Greek stopper is out of contract at the close of the month and has already been informed that he is surplus to requirements in the Italian capital. Dellas is thought to be a major target for Gers chief Alex McLeish, who is looking to cement Rangers' current position ahead of Celtic in the SPL pecking order. Portsmouth, AEK Athens Galatasaray are also thought to be coveting his signature but it would appear the player is ready to try his luck in Scotland.
''Rangers are one of the biggest clubs in Britain and we know every year they play in the Champions League,'' Dellas told The Herald. ''So for me they are a very important team in Europe. I know these things. ''Officially, no, I have not talked with Rangers but I know from the newspapers and other sources that they are interested in me. ''In Britain the people live for their football and I would have no problems coming back there.'' < |
