The Frenchman has already been tabled a new deal by Roma management, which is understood to remain inside the club's £1.7 million-a-year self-imposed wage ceiling. Meanwhile, Milan are prepared to offer Mexes a long-term, £2.2 million-a-year deal and know they can sign the defender for £7 million courtesy of a buyout clause in his existing Roma contract.
