我一开始就表明我不会要和托蒂一样的薪水，托蒂是罗马城的象征，只有他有权利到更多。我和他们的问题不在钱，是原则的问题。

UDINE, Oct 18 (Reuters) - AS Roma striker Antonio Cassano, whose contract dispute threatens his place in Italy's World Cup squad, said on Tuesday the Serie A club's management were trying to force him to leave.
Cassano, one of Italy's most highly rated young players, has been unable to agree an extension to his deal with Roma which is due to expire at the end of the season.
"I repeat that, as I said in pre-season, I want to stay with Roma," Cassano told a meeting with supporters which was reported by Gazzetta dello Sport's website.
"It is not me that wants to leave but the club that wants to send me on my way," he added.
If Cassano reached the end of his contract he could join another club on a free transfer and Italian media reports have said Roma hope to sell him during the January transfer window.
Cassano, though, said he is ready to compromise over the main sticking point -- his salary -- and denied he was demanding the same money as club captain Francesco Totti.
"In February they offered me some money and then afterwards they said that this money was no longer on the table without explaining anything to me. They are making a fool of me.
"I had a meeting with the club on September 8 and told them I wanted to stay," said the striker.
"I took two steps back from my request but they haven't even made one step forward. They need to do that.
"I would sign for much less than they offered in February but they can't make offers in this style -- they can't make a fool of me," he said.
Italy coach Marcello Lippi views Cassano as a potential key player for his team in next year's World Cup but a combination of the contract dispute and injury have meant he has been left out of all the Azzurri's recent qualifiers.
