Gigi Del Neri has had enough of Roma’s players criticising him in the press and now claims they should be happy they’re playing at all.
德尔内里表示罗马球员现在应该正视球队目前的困难，应该努力振作，而不是一味攻击教练
“Players should make sacrifices for their club and shut up,” stated the Coach in a powerful interview with ‘Roma Channel’.
“球员们应该为俱乐部着想闭上嘴巴多做事”德尔内里在接受Roma Channel采访时表示
“They ought to be happy at stepping foot on to the pitch at all and thank the tactician for giving them the opportunity to play. There are many things to change in their attitude and when there are problems they must take responsibility.”

It has been a tough few weeks for Del Neri, who has had to contend with Antonio Cassano and Christian Panucci being frozen out of the squad and then reintegrated, while Vincenzo Montella and others have criticised him in the press.
“I am sick of talking about my tactical system, as all I want is an organised team. If Aquilani complains that he’s a central midfielder and not a winger then I’ll remind him he played well against Milan out on the right flank.”

After going through Cesare Prandelli and Rudi Voller this season alone, there were fears Del Neri’s favoured 4-4-2 system would not fit this squad.
“It is true that I don’t have the players to suit my system,” confessed the ex-Chievo boss. “Clearly we are trying to make the most of the situation, but we can only do that with hard work. If someone has slipped, we have to drag him up by the hair and keep everyone together.”

The Giallorossi have relied on Montella and captain Francesco Totti to keep them going so far this season and Del Neri warns that is counter-productive.
“We have to play as a team and learn that everyone has to take responsibility. It’s no good to just keep giving the ball to the best players and let them get on with it.”

Voller said that a lack of discipline was part of the reason behind his resignation in September, but his replacement is not going to give up so easily.
“This is what I am like and I don’t think I’m wrong to be this way,” continued the Coach. “I do my work honestly and professionally, so I don’t want to become a man who says things for the sake of it. I always say what I believe.”

The Giallorossi have only slipped down the standings since Del Neri took over and they are now hovering one point above the relegation zone.
“The only match we really got horribly wrong was the 3-0 defeat to Udinese,” he insisted. “As for the rest of it, we played productive football. The fans are very passionate and there is an intense rapport with the team, but they must have patience while we work towards a long-term aim.”
