Lecce Stopper Andrea Esposito Dreams Of Roma Move

Press reports suggested last week that Roma are keeping tabs on Lecce central defender Andrea Esposito and could table a bid this summer.

Esposito is a Salentini youth product and made his Serie A debut at the tender age of 17 in January 2004.

After a loan spell at Sambenedettese in 2006-07, he returned to the Stadio Via Del Mare, contributing to the club’s promotion to Serie A.

“Playing for a top side like Roma would be a dream come true,” Esposito is quoted as saying in RomaGiallorossa.com.

“However, I am only focused on Lecce’s bid to avoid the drop for the time being and there will be time to think about this at the end of the season.”

Lecce are currently second from bottom, three points adrift of safety, and will host Catania this weekend.
