| Giampiero Pinzi will play his last game for Udinese this afternoon, announced the club captain.
“I still feel pain in my knee, but I really want to play this match. That is because it could well be the last time I do so with the Udinese jersey,” said the midfielder ahead of the meeting with Palermo.
“After seven years, I feel the desire to try new experiences in other cities. I have already spoken about this to the President.”
A Lazio youth product and Italian international with one cap to his name, Pinzi joined the Stadio Friuli outfit in 2000 and worked his way through the ranks to become the captain.
He is set to leave this summer, but as a parting gift praised Coach Alberto Malesani, who came in mid-season for Giovanni Galeone.
“When Malesani arrived, he hit the bullseye. He immediately proved himself to be an experienced tactician who really helped us to reinforce the team spirit. I consider him to be the right man to lead this squad.”
