Zampa considers Viola switch	Tuesday 29 May, 2007
Atalanta striker Riccardo Zampagna has failed to rule out a summer switch to Serie A giants Fiorentina. The veteran has been associated with a switch to Florence and Zampagna is seemingly keen, even though he would be used as a back-up for next season’s first choice pairing of Adrian Mutu and Giampaolo Pazzini. “Riccardo has no problem in starting from the bench,” his representative Luca Urbani noted on Tuesday. “In fact, it would be quite useful for him as it may increase his sense of competition which is always important for a striker. “Atalanta and Fiorentina have an excellent relationship so Zampagna could join the Viola for something around £1m, when you take into account his age.” The Viola are looking for new attacking solutions after they confirmed that Luca Toni will be sold, but Urbani noted that Atalanta would have the final say. “We will meet their sporting director and President Ivan Ruggeri this week to discuss my client’s future,” he added. “We spoke two weeks ago but we did not face this issue, also because Atalanta need to take a decision on who will be their Coach first. “They also have to understand what Christian Vieri intends to do. If he leaves, Atalanta might decide to keep my client who could represent a starting point for the club.” Zampagna, 32, is contracted to the Bergamaschi until 2008 and has also been heavily linked with Livorno recently.

Luca Urbani, agente di Riccardo Zampagna, intervenendo a "Unico Grande Amore", programma trasmesso da Teleradiostereo 92.7, condotto da Augusto Ciardi e Domenico Graziani, ha dichiarato in Esclusiva:

"Zampagna vorrebbe il rinnovo del contratto, che lo farebbe restare all'Atalanta molto volentieri perchè è molto affezionato e legato all'ambiente. Quelli di Vieri e di Zampagna sono due destini che si incrociano perchè non credo che l'Atalanta possa permettersi due attaccanti di tale portata, considerando anche Cristiano Doni, che ha caratteristiche molto offensive. Ad oggi non abbiamo ricevuto alcuna offerta, neanche dalla Roma, che sappiamo però essere alla ricerca di una punta con le sue caratteristiche. Per lui sarebbe un onore. L'estate scorsa ci fu anche la possibilità di un trasferimento in Francia, al Monaco, ma lui preferisce restare in Italia. Stilando una percentuale, direi che oggi resta a Bergamo al sessanta per cento".
