Inter Milan boss Roberto Mancini has hinted that he is keen to sign Roma misfit Antonio Cassano during the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old joined the capital outfit in the summer of 2001 and penned a five-year deal with the Romans, which is due to expire in the summer of 2006.
The club has offered the youngster a new contract but the former Bari star has made it clear that he has no intention of extending his stay in the Eternal City.
Inter have been linked with a swoop for the player for some time and now the boss has confessed that that he would love to have the hot-shot in his ranks for the second-half of the season and beyond.
He said: "I would welcome him with open arms. He has all the qualities you need - maybe too many.
"I don't know, personally, if he'll come to Inter but all I do know that he's a great player, there's no doubt about that.
"He has extraordinary technique and I would welcome him with open arms. But that all depends on Massimo Moratti."
Cassano has fallen out spectacularly with Roma and was left out of the squad for the early part of the season. However he is now back in the first team, as Roma look to put the youngster in the shop window in order to off-load him in the New Year.
If Mancini gets his way, it looks as though Cassano will be heading to the San Siro.
