De Rossi Close To New Contract
Roma star Daniele De Rossi is close to agreeing a contract extension with the club, according to Il Romanista.
The 23-year-old’s current deal expires in 2009, however most of the negotiations have been completed and he is set to put pen to paper shortly after the end of year celebrations.
De Rossi is Roma through-and-through, having been born in the city and having grown up in the Giallorossi youth system.
He is widely considered as the heir to current club symbol and captain Francesco Totti, who at the age of 31 is moving towards the latter stages of his career.
De Rossi is admired by Real Madrid and AC Milan, both of who would love to sign him, however a new contract would put pay to this for a considerable, if not indefinite time-period.
Meanwhile there was a comical moment when Roma administrative delegate Rosella Sensi forgot to mention De Rossi’s name when describing the players who were “untouchable” at the club.
In an interview with the Gazzetta dello Sport, Rosella, who is also the daughter of club President Franco Sensi said:
尽管米兰和皇马都想签下德罗西,不过德罗西仍然考虑续约。据说冬歇期之后双方就会续约 |
