AS Roma And Italpetroli Deny Sale Agreement
Italpetroli, the parent company of AS Roma, have moved swiftly to deny reports that the club have been sold to a Swiss-German conglomerate headed by Vinicio Fioranelli.
"With reference to the news that has appeared in some of the media outlets on the conclusion of agreements for the major shares of AS Roma from Company Italpetroli...these stories are completely without foundation," began a statement on the club's official website.
"Italpetroli has also stated the same, even in the light of these numerous and uncontrolled press reports. In the future, we will avoid commenting on any press reports unless at the express request of those in the control."
"Finally, Italpetroli will act without hesitation against anyone spreading this unfounded news that is likely to affect the normal proceedings on the stock exchange, in order to protect it's interests and those of the shareholders of AS Roma, as well as contain any damages caused by such news."
Current Giallorossi president Rosella Sensi has remained adamant that her family will not be selling the club in the near future.
