Roma are reportedly considering a buy-out bid from a group of Swiss businessmen, who are represented by Vinicio Fioranelli, and Tuttosport today reports they are keen to hire current Juventus coach, Claudio Ranieri, if they manage to seize control of the club.
The conglomerate also includes German lawyer Volker Flick and other Italian entrepreneurs and President Rosella Sensi admitted on Saturday that Italpetroli, the holding company which controls the Giallorossi, is prepared to open negotiations.
Fioranelli is believed to be a close friend of Ranieri, since his Chelsea days, and would love to put the Roman native in charge of the Lupi.
Despite reassurances from President Sensi, Luciano Spalletti’s reign in the Eternal City seems to be drawing to an close, after he failed to secure Champions League football for next season.
Spalletti is tipped, in turn, to replace Ranieri in Turin.
Roma have been linked with a host of names in recent weeks, including current Siena boss Marco Giampaolo, Sampdoria trainer Walter Mazzarri and former Inter coach Roberto Mancini.
