[channel4] Toulouse defender Jeremy Mathieu has admitted that he would love to join Roma in the summer.
The Frenchman was paired with the capital city club last year and the Giallorossi recently renewed their interest in his services, as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of next season.
“I have heard that Roma consider me one of their targets and it would be an honour for me to join them next year,” said Mathieu to Il Corriere dello Sport.
“I haven’t spoken to them personally, but someone else had held conversations with club representatives for me. I only hope that Roma and Toulouse can find an agreement.”
The full-back, who joined his current club in 2005 from Sochaux, is valued at £4m, although reports in Italy suggest that Roma are not willing to pay more than £2.8m.
