Roma Star Jeremy Menez’s Agent Rubbishes Lyon Link
The Frenchman’s representative insists that his client’s desire is to stay in the Italian capital.
Press reports suggested yesterday that French giants Olympique Lyonnais were set to launch a 10 million bid to sign Jeremy Menez from Roma.
“Lyon? I don’t know anything about it,” the player’s agent, Jean-Pierre Bernes, stated, dismissing the speculation on Tuttomercatoweb.
The 22-year-old joined the Lupi from Monaco for 10.5m last summer but has struggled to hold down a regular first-team place, mustering just 12 starting appearances in Serie A.
Doubts were cast over his future after Sunday’s final game of the season. “I have yet to decide whether I’ll stay at Roma. I need to talk to the directors,” he said.
But his representative is adamant that the attacking midfielder will honour his deal with the Eternal City outfit.
“The player has a contract with Roma and his wish is to stay with the Giallorossi,” he asserted.
“Therefore, we are not interested in listening to potential offers at the moment.”
