Roma track Liga rebel Tristan Saturday 6 September, 2003
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Roma are showing interest in La Liga regulars Capi and Diego Tristan following their capture of Valencia star John Carew (pictured).
Boss Fabio Capello has always kept a close eye on the Spanish League, especially since winning the title with Real Madrid.
The club already made an approach for Deportivo La Coruna hitman Tristan last summer, but it was rejected.
The situation has certainly changed in the last few weeks, as the rapport between Tristan and Coach Irureta has deteriorated rapidly.
It’s reported the striker is ready to move on and Rome would be an ideal destination for his talents.
Meanwhile, the Giallorossi continue to track a midfield reinforcement for the January transfer window.
Juve’s rebel Edgar Davids is the first choice, but the Turin side will make life difficult for any potential buyers from Serie A.
The alternative to the Dutchman is Real Betis starlet Jesus Capitan Prada Capi, personally requested by Capello.
Capi is 26 years of age and recently made headway into the Spanish national side following his fine performances.
The rapport between the two clubs is strong thanks to Betis buying Marcos Assuncao last summer.
