SAMPDORIA
I'm not surprised by Sampdoria's start in the league. I faced them in Serie B last season and after a poor first half to their campaign they had a fantastic second half. They've changed coach since but have continued to do well. They're a good, well-balanced side. Might the fact we're yet to win at home affect the players tomorrow? I hope it has a positive effect and makes them even more determined to get that first win in front of the fans. We have to play the way we can. Both teams will go out to win but only one can get the three points. I think we're in good shape, mentally and physically, so I hope we can make the most of that tomorrow. It won't be easy, though.

TREATMENT ROOM
Totti and De Rossi? They trained yesterday without any problems. We'll see this evening and look at whether I can field them tomorrow. Osvaldo is further behind as he's still training separately. Dodô isn't ready to play yet but he's getting treated.

INDIVIDUALS
Giocoechea? He's settled in well. He was already in good shape because he'd just finished playing two weeks before coming here. Piris? I have a squad in which everyone is good enough to play so it's just a case of seeing who is in the best form at any given time, and perhaps this isn't his best moment. I hope he can improve the mental side of his game but he's working hard in training and I have no complaints about him. Tachtsidis and De Rossi? I wouldn't say that either of them offers more defensive stability in midfield than the other. Rotation ahead of Juventus? I have no plans to rest anyone. I always try to pick those that can play. I think Marquinhos is a great footballer and he's ready for the pitch. It's just that as the coach I have to make choices. I'm looking forward to being able to use him because I believe in him a lot: the season is long and I think he'll be very useful to us.

CAGLIARI RESULT
What do I think us being awarded the win against Cagliari? I'm sorry we couldn't play the game but it wasn't our fault – we wanted to play. The 3-0 default victory is obviously a rule that should hold for everyone. I'm especially sorry for the Cagliari fans, they have done nothing wrong. The spotlight on Roma and all the controversy? I leave that for the others to get on with. There's a rule in place and at least Tosel applied it.

CELLINO
I think Cellino is angry but so are lots of other people and I think they have more right to be. What he did was serious: committees had ruled that the match should be played behind closed doors but he went and invited fans to go to the stadium anyway. His problems with the local council shouldn't affect the championship.

SIDESTEPPING CONTROVERSY
Ferrara? I have nothing to say to him. There are courts that dealt with certain problems for ten years, it's nothing to do with me. Will I shake his hand? I say hello to everyone. Controversy with him and Vialli? They're the ones who have been talking, I have no intention of coming to loggerheads with anyone.

TITLE CONTENDERS
There's everything to play for and lots of teams are trying to get their game going. Some are doing that better than others right now but I remember Milan last season: after a slow start they were top of the league for a long time. Juventus obviously look like the strongest side at the moment but I don't know if that will last for 38 games. I wouldn't write off Inter or AC Milan. They have always challenged for the title in recent years and done well in Europe too. With 34 league games left to play and more than 100 points to be won, it's too early to say some teams are playing catch-up. Too much for us to challenge for the title? I don't think anyone goes out to lose, we all have ambitions. Looking at my team I think we can be a match for anyone and so yes, also make a push for the Scudetto.

STRONG SQUADS
I think modern-day squads are better rounded than they used to be. In the past you often had 11 first choices and 11 back-ups. There's a less marked difference nowadays. Take Insigne for example: he played superbly for Italy but is on the bench at Napoli. I have lots of players I can rotate because there's not much between them. An advantage that we're not in Europe? I'd rather play all the time and I think the players would too: it's harder training throughout the week than playing.

FANS' ENTHUSIASM
If the fans are happy and flocking to the stadium in numbers that's credit to them, not us. They love this club and at the same time they have high expectations of us. I hope the team will be able to live up to those expectations.

ASPIRATIONS
How do I respond to Cellino after he said that you have to win to be considered great? I don't aspire to be great, but to coach and improve the players I have to work with. Yes, I heard what Nesta said about me and it was very nice of him too...

ITALIAN FOOTBALL CRISIS
Italian football does have some problems at the moment: that much is clear by the fact that nearly 10 teams started the season with points deductions. It's a difficult time and hopefully we can come through it. It can be done by respecting the rules.

我对于桑普多利亚在联赛开局的表现一点也不吃惊，上赛季我曾经在意乙面对他们，他们有个糟糕的上半赛季和梦幻般的下半赛季。现在他们请了一位新教练，球队各个位置变得更加均衡。我们会按照我们的方式去踢。两支球队都向往胜利，但只有一支球队能够带走3分。我想我们在精神和身体上已经准备好了，我希望我们能获胜，不过这并不容易。

治疗室
托蒂和德罗西？从昨天的训练情况来看，托蒂和德罗西情况良好。现在，我们还要看看他们俩能否出战明天的比赛。奥斯瓦尔多仍在单独训练。多多还未做好训练的准备，目前还在继续治疗。
