Wolverhampton Wanderers have made a bid of 3 million euros for Red Star Belgrade midfielder Nenad Milijas, according to Sky Sports.
The Premier League new boys are keen to bolster their squad in preparation for the new season, and it is thought the Serbian midfielder is one of their top transfer targets.
The 26-year-old is currently Red Star's club captain, but is looking for a move to a bigger club in the summer.
Scouts have been sent from some top European clubs, with Panathinaikos, Roma, CSKA Moscow and Borussia Dortmund all rumoured to be interested in acquiring the Serbia international's services.
However, the club currently thought to be leading the race to sign the midfielder are German Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach, who want Milijas to replace Marko Marin, who is thought to be leaving in the summer.
But, Milijas' agent, Zoran Stojadinovic, has claimed that an offer has been made by Wolves, who are keen to seal the deal quickly.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Stojadinovic said, "We received a 3million offer from Wolves.
"They are asking for Milijas to have medical checks as soon as possible, but everything will wait until we see what we will do with Borussia."
The Red Star captain has made 97 league appearances for the club, scoring 37 goals.
