Toro grab Ascoli duo	Thursday 21 June, 2007
Torino have completing the signings of Paolo Zanetti and Sasa Bjelanovic from relegated Ascoli. The Granata have been one of the most active clubs in the transfer market and have now announced the arrival of two more men to strengthen their squad for next season. Zanetti, a 24-year-old midfielder, started his career at Vicenza, making his Serie A debut in the 2000-01 season. In 2003 he joined Empoli, becoming one of the Tuscan outfit’s key players before being sidelined for most of the 2005-06 campaign because of injury. Zanetti then moved on to Ascoli last summer and will now wear the Granata outfit, fuelling speculation that Simone Barone is be close to leaving Turin. Striker Bjelanovic, 28, spent the last two seasons at Ascoli, after having played for Dinamo Zagreb, Varteks Varazdin, Chievo, Como, Genoa and Lecce. Torino have already secured the services of Eugenio Corini, Vincenzo Grella and Nicola Ventola, who joined the outfit on free transfers earlier this week.

Atalanta to sign Ahumada	Monday 25 June, 2007
Atalanta are on the verge of signing River Plate star Oscar Ahumada, according to the Argentine club’s President. The Bergamaschi are looking to strengthen their midfield department in view of Cristiano Doni’s likely departure and have kept their eye on the 24-year-old Argentine playmaker. “There are still some documents to be signed, but I can say that Ahumada has been transferred to Atalanta because they have accepted to pay the £1.4m that River want for the player,” said Jose Maria Aguilar. “We are very proud of Ahumada because he grew up at River and our current Coach Daniel Passarella considers him one of the most important players in the team. However, we can’t halt his career,” added the official. “He has already played in Europe [with Wolfsburg] and the player told us that he was interested in playing in Italy so we spoke with Passarella about his situation and we decided to let him go. “We are sure Ahumada is going to have success with his new team and on the other hand, we are calm. We have players like Leonardo Ponzio, Rene Lima and Nicolas Domingo to replace him,” concluded Aguilar.

Abbiati joins Atletico - Official	Tuesday 26 June, 2007
Milan have announced that goalkeeper Christian Abbiati will join Atletico Madrid on a one-year loan deal. The ex-Azzurri international appeared for Torino last season, but negotiations to extend his stay with the Granata stalled after Urbano Cairo asked the ‘keeper to lower his wage to £535,000 a year. “Milan announce the temporary transfer of footballer Christian Abbiati to Atletico Madrid until June 30, 2008,” read a statement on the Rossoneri website. The Via Turati outfit had declared that they were open to a loan deal if the 30-year-old opted to stay in Turin, but Los Colchoneros’ reported £1m-per-season offer convinced him to move on to pastures new. Abbiati started his career with Monza and joined Milan in 1998, where he quickly established himself as the Rossoneri’s No 1 before losing his place to Nelson Dida. He then agreed to a loan deal with Genoa for the 2005-06 season, but immediately returned to Milan after the Grifoni were relegated to Serie C1 as a consequence of a match-fixing scandal. Abbiati then moved on to Juventus, where he replaced the injured Gianluigi Buffon, but left at the end of the season to join Torino. His performances earned him a recall to the Italy squad last autumn, after playing in the 2000 Olympic Games and making his full international debut against Switzerland in April 2003.

Catania snap up Argentine pair	Tuesday 26 June, 2007
Catania have signed two Argentine players – goalkeeper Albano Benjamin Bizzarri and midfielder Cristian Ezequiel Llama. The Sicilians are eager to strengthen their squad after only avoiding relegation on the final day of the season. Bizzarri has put pen to paper on a one-year deal with an option for a second after his move from Spanish outfit Gimnastic Tarragona. “After having signed the contract, my first sensations were of joy and enthusiasm,” said the 29-year-old. “The Spanish Liga is not so different to Serie A, although Italian football is more competitive, especially with the return of Juventus and Napoli.” He started his career at Racing Club in Argentina, then spent two seasons as a reserve goalkeeper for Real Madrid, making a total of seven appearances, before Valladolid and Gimnastic Tarragona. “I have never had problems settling in to new environments. I hope to learn the language quickly and I think I am the right age to experience this incredible opportunity of Italian football,” added Bizzarri. “I am ready to prove my worth. A goalkeeper has two missions – to give the defence and therefore the entire squad a sense of calm and to guarantee points in the difficult moments with crucial saves.” He is joined by fellow Argentine Llama, a 21-year-old left-sided midfielder who has signed a four-year contract from Arsenal Sarandi’.

      他还特别指出自己希望能够加盟拉齐奥，因为他可以和德利奥.罗西再次合作，正是这位意大利主帅当年执教莱切时让切万顿成名。

After agreeing a deal for Francesco Tavano and Fausto Rossini, Livorno have also captured ex-Milan midfielder Vikash Dhorasoo. President Aldo Spinelli had hinted at the next big signing in an interview with ‘La Repubblica’ newspaper this morning. “A very strong midfielder of great prestige. There are too many vultures circling, so I can only confirm he is a famous French international.” Now the media in Italy claim that man is Dhorasoo, a former Olympique Lyonnais and Milan player. Although he featured in the 2006 World Cup for losing Finalists France, Dhorasoo was out of contract after he was sensationally sacked by Paris Saint-Germain in September. The midfielder was booted out of the club for calling Coach Guy Lacombe “a liar” and has also launched vitriolic attacks on French boss Raymond Domenech. This would be his return to Serie A after an unsuccessful season at Milan, where he made just 12 appearances in 2004-05. During his time on the sidelines, Dhorasoo was linked with Bolton, Lyon, Parma and had a trial with Fulham. Livorno have also reportedly signed Juventus youngster Francesco Volpe on a co-ownership deal after the striker returned from a loan spell at Ravenna. It has been an exhilarating week for the Amaranto, who also picked up Tavano from Valencia and hitman Rossini from Catania. “For Tavano we worked in silence and the news only leaked out once everything had already been signed, otherwise he would have been snatched away,” added President Spinelli. “He is the ideal player to replace Igor Protti and partner Cristiano Lucarelli. We have finally found a Number 10 worthy of Protti.”
