Mido's future at Tottenham is likely to be sorted out at the end of the season, with Roma expecting around ? million for the Egyptian striker.
The Italian giants are hoping to cash in as they look to fund a bid for Udinese striker Vincenzo Iaquinta.
Roma will require ?5million to land their target and are hoping to sell 23-year-old Mido, currently nearing the end of his 18-month loan spell at White Hart Lane, for around a third of that.
The player has made no secret of his desire to stay with the London club and coach Martin Jol has already confirmed that talks with the player about making his move permanent are underway.
Meanwhile Mido believes Tottenham's weekend victory over Blackburn will prove to be one of the club's most important results of the Barclays Premiership season.
He scrambled the winning goal as they overcame Rovers 3-2, having been pegged back from 2-0 up.
Victory kept Tottenham five points clear of Arsenal, whose 4-0 win at Fulham lifted them above Blackburn into fifth place.
Mido's winner followed two goals earlier in the game from strike partner and new Republic of Ireland captain Robbie Keane, which were cancelled out by Florent Sinama Pongolle and Craig Bellamy.
"For me, it was a vital win," said Mido, "first of all because Blackburn were only three points behind us and now we have opened a gap again.
"The second reason was because in the last four or five games we've had a bit of a dip in results, it's been a difficult period and we had to step again and win the game.
"Blackburn are a very good team and are difficult to beat. I said before it was very important and it was a great win for us.
"We showed great mentality with how we reacted after we conceded the second goal.
"I think they are two of the most important things in football - spirit and mentality - and we have a very good mentality in the team."

Mido is close to sealing a permanent move to Tottenham Hotspur Football Club
The Egyptian striker is nearing the end of an 18-month loan spell at White Hart Lane and his parent club Roma have indicated that they will do business on a permanent deal for a fee of around £5million.
The Italian side are allowed to buy players again as from the summer after a FIFA imposed ban and want to make Udinese striker Vincenzo Iaquinta their first capture.
With the Italian international set to cost £15million, Roma are keen to offload Mido to raise funds.
