Jeremy Menez ended his maiden season in Serie A with a wonder goal yesterday as Roma came from behind to overcome Torino 3-2 at the Olimpico, however, the Frenchman does not know if his future lies with the Lupi.
It was the 22-year-old’s fourth strike in the league, but it could have also been his final appearance in a Giallorossi shirt.
“I don’t know if I’ll stay, I have to talk with the club,” Menez is quoted as saying in Il Tempo.
“I have yet to make a decision, but it does not depend on [coach Luciano] Spalletti’s future. I will have a meeting with the directors. But if I don’t stay here, I will go back to France.”
Menez arrived in the Italian capital from Ligue 1 side Monaco last summer for a fee of 10.5 million.
But the skilled trequartista has struggled to adapt to life in Serie A and has grown increasingly frustrated at his limited first-team opportunities.
“I am settled in Rome,” continued Menez. “I would like to stay, but I would also play more. We’ll see what happens.”
