[channel4] Udinese midfielder Sulley Ali Muntari is expected to sign for Portsmouth by the end of this week.
The Ghanaian international was initially wanted by the Premiership club last summer and he’s now expected to finally complete a club record £7m move over the next 72 hours.
Although Muntari has yet to agree personal terms with the outfit, the Zebrette are aware that the combative midfielder will leave the Stadio Friuli imminently.
“Muntari has yet to finalise his personal demands,” Udinese director general Roberto Zanzi said. “But we are confident these issues will be solved over the next few days.”
Pompey chief executive Peter Storrie is also optimistic that his outfit will soon be able to unveil Muntari as a Pompey star.
“Talks are still ongoing,” explained the official. “It is fine-tuning, just minor details really, but we are hopeful they will be completed in the second half of this week.
“He is a very good player and wants to come here but negotiations, which in this case have been long, don’t happen just like that.”
Muntari is specifically wanted by boss Harry Redknapp, who has been following the player since the World Cup in Germany last summer.
