Eriksson in Adriano snub Tuesday 13 November, 2007

Manchester City are set to snub troubled Inter star Adriano as Sven Goran Eriksson denies L’Imperatore is a transfer target.
The Brazilian’s time with the Nerazzurri seems to be up as he has become a peripheral figure at the San Siro and his relationship with Coach Roberto Mancini is irreparable.
With speculation that the ex-Parma man may even be sacked rather than sold, Adriano stressed that he would welcome a move to Manchester, but that now seems unlikely.
“There is no plan to sign Adriano or any other player we have been linked with,” Eriksson told journalists.
“People seem to think that we have money for these kind of names, but if we were to go back into the market it would only be to sign a great champion.”
Eriksson’s veiled affront is yet another blow to the fragile 25-year-old’s ego and leaves Adriano’s future still shrouded in mystery.
The Swedish Coach’s denial will also be a disappointment to Rolando Bianchi, who reportedly was hoping to be offered as part exchange in the deal.
The former Reggina hitman has failed to settle in the Premier League and is believed to be determined to return to Italy during the winter transfer window.
