The German defender is currently on loan at Roma from Stuttgart, but is now wanted by Antonio Conte when he takes charge at Stamford Bridge in the summer.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Chelsea are willing to stump up a fee of around ￡24m for the 23-year-old, although they may face competition from Roma, who would like to sign the player on a permanent deal.

Roma and Stuttgart apparently agreed on an optional transfer for ￡7m at the end of Rudiger's loan spell but directors' heads at the German club may have been turned by the reported interest from Chelsea.

Chelsea are set to splash the cash as Conte plans a major overhaul of the squad when he takes and Stuttgart may want to cash in on the London club's summer shopping spree.

Conte is also keen on Rudiger's teammate at Roma this season Radja Nainggolan, with the Blues said to be close to securing a ￡31million deal for the midfielder.

Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly monitoring AS Roma midfielder Leandro Paredes. Their interest is reported in Thursday’s edition of the Italian newspaper TuttoSport.

Their story is actually about Torino’s negotiations to sign Paredes this summer. The Argentine player is currently on loan at Empoli and Roma would be up to let him go for good.

TuttoSport refer to the English sides as “the wealthy Premier League clubs”, as they would offer some danger to Torino’s deal. They say Arsenal are always looking for this kind of young talent and Chelsea could buy him because of Antonio Conte’s desire.

Paredes signed for Roma in 2014 on loan from Boca Juniors. He spent one season at the Italian club and, once they bought him permanently, Roma loaned the player to Empoli, where he’s been since last summer.

Giovani Lo Celso, the attacking jewel of Rosario Central, seemed destined to join PSG. However, his father, Juan Pere Lo Celso, has denied that negotiations with the Parisian club are finalized. These are his words to calciomercato.it:
“Giovani is liked by many clubs, but the only clubs to have submitted a bid to Rosario Central are, so far, Roma and PSG. The proposal of the French club is higher than that of the Giallorossi, but my son has not yet signed for the Parisian club. Juventus? They have only shown interest without ever presenting any official offer.”

What does your own future hold?
I’ve told the club I’d like to carry on playing. I haven’t had any physical problems this season. I’ve played less of course but I’ve tried to do my bit for the team by showing the right attitude and chipping in with a word or two at the right time. I’m in no hurry. We have three league games left to play and regardless of any transfer rumours it would be good if the fans could enjoy the end of the campaign without wasting time or energy in things that don’t help us achieve the results we want.
