Rome sweet home for Chivu
Cristian Chivu will reportedly snub a summer switch by signing a contract extension with Roma.
The Romanian, who has recently returned to action after almost nine months on the sidelines, is thought to be high on the list of transfer priorities for Inter, Juventus and Real Madrid.
However, it is believed the former Ajax stopper is happy to stay at the Roman club and will pledge his long-term future with the Giallorossi.
"It is pleasing to know that a lot of important teams are interested in Cristian," stated his agent Andrea Pretti.
"Nevertheless, Cristian believes in the club’s project for the future and he wants to stay here."
Pretti himself was spotted at the Trigoria training base on Wednesday where he allegedly started talks with the outfit over a new deal for his client.
Chivu joined Roma in the summer of 2003, when he signed a five-year deal, and was a revelation during his first Serie A season under then boss Fabio Capello.
The now Juventus Coach is believed to be keen on having him back at his disposal in Turin next season.
While both Inter and Real would welcome the international in a bid to resolve some of their defensive difficulties.(CHANNEL4)
